Today I will:
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 (ESV)
We have all been brought up to dislike failure-however, there have been few who have risen to their greatest achievements without tasting it and using it as a springboard to triumph. In Romans 8:37, Paul called us "more than conquerors." How can one become a conqueror without something to overcome?
Jesus gave us the ultimate example of being a conqueror: Though He walked perfectly on the earth, He still faced and embraced the Cross for what would be gained through it. What would be gained? A sinful world-a world full of failures, if you will-would find forgiveness and redemption from their failures. Were the failures of the world Jesus' fault? We can answer only with a resounding, "No!" However, despite the fact that He was not at fault, He still spread His arms wide and said, "I will take responsibility and pay the price for their mistakes."
It is only those who take responsibility-even for problems they did not cause-who will ultimately provide the solution that will tum apparent defeat and failure into victory. Will you be available today to be part of the solution rather than contributing to the problem?
